  5. special section for old users that warns you of some changes you may
  6. have to do. Old users will have pretty much seen the rest of this

  12. I have been dogged by an erratic crashing bug that I still haven't
  13. been able to track down. I am releasing this version because I'm
  14. getting fed up with looking for it.

  21. WHAT IS IT
  22.  
  23.     This program allows you to create "FORMS" for display on your
  24. monitor or for rendering by the POV or VIVID raytracers. A form is a
  25. three dimensional object built up from a simple set of primitives
  26. (sphere, box, torus, ellipse, cone, spacer) and some simple
  27. operations that are performed on them (stack, bend, twist, grow etc.).

  29.     Although this sounds none too inspiring the FORMs you can create
  30. with simple input files can be quite good, or why else would I have
  31. written this program?  
  32.  
  33.     This program is NOT a CAD package, none of the forms produced are
  34. intended to represent anything real in any way, they are just
  35. supposed to look good.

  37.     For those of you who have seen or read TODD and LATHAM's book
  38. "Evolutionary Art and Computers" this program is supposed to perform
  39. roughly the same function as that set out in that book.

  42. REGISTRATION.

  44. This program is FREE, you don't have to register. I would like some
  45. feedback though, you could consider this some sort of registration if
  46. you like.

  49. LEGAL STUFF

  51.     see FORM.DOC for copyright and restrictions on distribution.
  52.     Basically it says don't charge for the program, and respect other
  53.     peoples copyright. Also ask me before you distribute with a publication.

  55. REQUIREMENTS
  56.  
  57.     Due to the video routines I have used this program requires:-
  58.         An IBM PC compatible with a 386 or better processor 
  59.         A VGA or super VGA display (preferably with a VESA driver).
  60.         A text editor, such as DOS's EDIT.
  61.         Some extended or expanded memory is useful (though not essential),
  62.         extended/expanded memory usage varies from around zero to 1.4Meg
  63.         dependant on screen resolution.

  65.     A big sorry to those of you who haven't got a machine that
  66. matches or exceeds the above specs, but I think this is getting to be
  67. a standard sort of machine now.

  72.     If you don't have an IBM PC compatible but would still like to
  73. run this program on your machine please let me know, I may do a
  74. conversion for you, or release the source code.
